Oriented strand boards (OSB) are made up of layers of cross-oriented timber strands and are bonded together with a waterproof resin. This unique formation allows these boards to withstand high levels of stress – ideal to use in a wide range of projects.

The other great thing about OSB is that the design of its oriented strand allows it to be used in the same way as plywood. In fact, the only difference between the materials is that plywood usually produces a look that is dull-looking before it is treated with stain or paint. OSB, on the other hand, does not need any staining or painting because the unique design of the board already contains a polished look.

Flooring. Whilst tiles and other types of wooden boards can be an expensive material to use for sub-flooring, OSB offers a cost-effective alternative.
