Structural Timber

Treated Structural Timber

Our C24 graded structural timber has been produced from slow grown logs in Sweden and Latvia

The graded timber we stock has been pressure treated for protection against rot and insects, regularised for uniformity of size and has a smooth finish for easy handling.

What is Treated Structural Timber?

Often referred to as Structural Carcassing Timber, it is a type of wood that is used for structural applications and comes in different grades; C16 & C24 Treated Carcassing Timber.

What is C16 Structural Timber?

C16 graded structural timber is the most cost-effective option and meets performance requirements. Kiln dried C16 is generally recommended for most applications if the correct spans are used and is mainly used internally for floor and roof joists. Lengths commonly available are 3.0, 3.6, 4.2 and 4.8 meter.

What is C24 StructuralTimber?

C24 grade Treated Structural Timber offers greater strength than C16 timber does, and it can handle higher loads and wider spans.

It is the better-quality structural option as it can take up to 50% longer for C24 timber to grow, meaning that they have more growth rings. The more growth rings a piece of wood has, the higher its overall density, which in turn means that it has greater natural durability and improved stability.

C24 timber has smaller/fewer knots than C16 grade making it stronger and less likely to twist.

Suitable Applications:
